The Black Tie Affair – At Kabana Rooftop

If you’re looking for an event on the fancier side to celebrate the new year, Kabana Rooftop is hosting an extravagant “Black Tie Affair.” To attend the event, you will need to purchase a ticket, but they are currently on sale for $35 as an ‘early bird’ special deal. A ticket to this party will include complimentary appetizer stations, a midnight toast, party favors and live music by PK Clasik! Festivities begin at 9 p.m. and will carry on until 2 a.m. If you want to watch the ball drop with your friends while looking out over the city of Richmond, this one’s for you!

The Camel: Cellar Dwellers NYE with Bone Machine, Nancy Raygun, and Project Magic

The Camel, a local bar and favorite live music venue of many will be hosting some of Richmond’s best local bands on New Year’s Eve to kick off 2024. This event is definitely on the cheaper side with tickets starting at $12 when purchased in advance! The music lineup consists of the Cellar Dwellers, Bone Machine, Nancy Raygun and Djing by Project Magic. The show will begin at nine and carry on into the new year!

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden: Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights: $20 tickets

The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, a beloved tourist attraction in Richmond, will be hosting a series of light shows throughout the next few weeks. The outdoor and indoor gardens will be covered in festive Christmas lights and decor in addition to the option to purchase smores and hot chocolate! The latest light show on New Years Eve begins at 8:30 p.m. and will last until about 10 p.m. Therefore, if you’re looking for a fun event to attend before heading home or out to eat to watch the ball drop, this is the perfect place to go!

Get Tight Lounge – “NYE 1983”

If you want your night to be filled with throwback hits, I’d head to Get Tight Lounge for their “NYE 1983” event! Beginning at 8 p.m., this local bar will be having several Richmond bands play covers of artists such as Madonna, David Bowie, REM, and Blondie! Get Tight Lounge also currently has a collection of festive alcoholic drinks and appetizers available that would be perfect to try! Tickets are currently on sale for $30 and are predicted to sell out, so get them while you can.

    Tobacco Company

This event is a little more on the pricey side, but definitely worth the fine dining experience! The Tobacco Company, a multilevel bar and restaurant, will be hosting a spectacular celebration on New Years Eve. Tickets are currently on sale with options including an individual ticket, a couples ticket, or a friends table ticket (3 to 4 guests)! This event is the perfect mix of a three course meal and an invigorating party. I highly suggest taking a look at this location if you are interested in a night of good food and fun in RVA!
