Alive, Alert, Awake, Enthusiastic! – The Exchange Blog

Tuesday’s walk was canceled due to weather concerns, but Entertainment Chair James Bowdin and Entertainment Vice-Chair Ginger McBride got the morning started indoors with announcements and a group rendition of “alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic” at the kick start session.

Then it was another full day of classes, diving even deeper into various financial aid topics. Guest speakers included NASFAA National Chair-Elect Heidi Carl and RMASFAA President Justin Brown.

The evening entertainment was Minute to Win It where classes competed against each other in 10 different events: Kleenex Pull, Candy Transfer, Cup Stacking, Dice Roll, On the Nose, Cup Stack, Nose Roll, Heads or Tails, Balloon Juggling, Junk in the Truck. Students who found the idols earlier this week had the opportunity to exchange them for an advantage in the Minute to Win It event of their choosing. Congratulations to the Loan Rangers for winning with four wins!

Attendees/faculty can still earn points for their class by participating in tomorrow’s morning walk from 6 – 6:30 A.M. and scavenger hunt from 7:00 A.M. – until found.

Today is a short day. Students will have an open afternoon beginning at 2pm to choose their own adventure. The sign up sheets for things to do throughout Wichita will be in the lobby of Shocker Hall to assist with coordinating groups as desired. Board games are also available in the lobby.

    Scavenger Hunt

Congratulations to Laura from the Loan Rangers for finding Tuesday’s idol!

Now that Minute to Win It has ended, the remaining idols will be worth an additional point towards the participation award and prizes that will be presented to the class with the most points per student at Thursday’s closing banquet.

    Here’s today’s first clue:

Hopefully things are starting to slide into place!

Additional clues will be sent through Instagram throughout the day as needed until the idol is found. The hidden idol will be worth 1 point for the class and give an advantage to the game! (Instagram, @rmasfaa).

Although SI is much shorter than a season of Survivor, it’s always nice to receive letters from home. If you know someone attending Summer Institute 2025 as a student, faculty, or committee member, consider sending them an encouraging text or email as we head into the end of the week. There’s still a lot to learn and do before this season of summer institute ends!
