This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year–Apple Music Replay and Spotify Wrapped are out! Looking back over the music I’ve listened to throughout the year is always so exciting. However, I always feel like I’m surprised by the results, so I thought it would be fun to share my Apple Music Replay and talk about the songs I listened to this year.

    Artists

    drake

For All The Dogs was one of my favorite albums released this year, but I’m a sucker for any Drake song. Coming in at 1,174 minutes, Drake was my top artist of the year. I was also lucky enough to attend his concert in Charlotte with my roommate, and we listened to the setlist over and over the whole way there.

    Juice WRLD

This one may be a shocker, but Juice WRLD is actually my favorite artist and he has been for a few years now. He was a little farther behind Drake with 978 minutes. Who Shot Cupid? is one of my favorite songs ever, and I could listen to Goodbye & Good Riddance or Death Race for Love on repeat 24/7.

    Taylor Swift

Obviously–the global artist of the year, there’s no way Taylor Swift couldn’t make my top five. My two roommates are the biggest Swifties, and they’ve converted me since I met them here at NC State. My top three albums of hers are reputation, 1989, and folklore. I’m glad I’ve listened to Taylor more this year, but I’m honestly a little surprised that she came in third at 767 minutes.

    Noah Kahan

I have been in love with Noah Kahan this year, and when he released Dial Drunk with Post Malone, I was OBSESSED. I found myself playing Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever) on repeat. I couldn’t be happier that Noah Kahan has gotten more popular this year, and I can’t wait to see what else he releases in the future. He came in at fourth with 605 minutes.

    Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is my favorite pop artist of all time, and she continues to be in my top five artists year after year. This year, she was fifth with 520 minutes. That being said, I wish she would release some new music, but I can’t wait to see how her acting career will continue to prosper after her appearance in Wicked. My favorite songs of hers are goodnight n go, everytime, and needy.

Lastly, I’ll share my top ten songs:

    1. Boy’s a liar, Pt. 2 – PinkPantheress & Ice Spice

    2. liar – iann dior

    3. A Kiss – THE DRIVER ERA

    4. Telephone (feat. Beyonce) – Lady Gaga

    5. F2F – SZA

    6. Stoked – Weston Estate

    7. Put It On Da Floor Again (feat. Cardi B) – Latto

    8. Trance – Metro Boomin

    9. I know it won’t work – Gracie Abrams

    10. Everywhere, Everything – Noah Kahan

I always look forward to seeing my Apple Music Replay. I think it’s the perfect recap of how the year has gone, and I find myself looking back at my Replays from previous years as well to reflect on how my taste in music has transformed throughout the years. If you haven’t already looked at yours, be sure to check it out!
