VOLUNTEERING WITH ARKANAS SINGLE PARENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

If you’re looking for a rewarding, impactful way to give back to your community, there’s no better place to invest your time and talents than with Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund. And with over 100 ways to volunteer, there’s a place for EVERYONE on the ASPSF team!

Join us as we explore some of our most popular volunteer roles. Or take a look at our full list of volunteer opportunities!

    REVIEW SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

Each scholarship cycle, volunteers across the state review and evaluate scholarship applications from single-parent students in their area. Their goal is to ensure applicants meet eligibility criteria. Volunteers may follow up with applicants regarding supporting documentation and may identify discussion points for interviews.

    COORDINATE AWARD CEREMONIES

One of the most rewarding ways to get involved with ASPSF is by helping coordinate a scholarship award ceremony. These unique events allow us to celebrate our hard-working single-parents students and highlight their amazing accomplishments.

Volunteers often participate by helping to plan the event, welcoming students and their families as they arrive, announcing scholarship recipients and assisting with set up and clean up.

    TUTOR OR MENTOR STUDENTS

Tutors are especially valuable resources to our scholarship recipients. Many students have been out of school for several years and may struggle with complex subject such as science, algebra or college-level writing. Mentors also serve as assets to our recipients, providing networking advice, career tips and more.

Most importantly, our volunteer tutors and mentors help encourage our single-parent students as they work hard to transform the future for their families!

    HELP RAISE LOCAL FUNDS

Across Arkansas, local fundraising efforts help support scholarships and support services for our recipients. Volunteers help raise funds in their communities by planning fundraising events, assisting with mailouts, writing grants or mailing thank you notes.

Interested in more opportunities change the lives of single-parent families, by supporting the ASPSF mission? Check out our list of 100+ ways to volunteer.
