Megan Thee Stallion and Jimmy Fallon coined Hot Girl Fall nearly three years ago. Naturally, we still very much love the idea of our summer confidence carrying on into the cool and crisp days of autumn… but what is hotness without fit origins?

Fit Girl Fall: To put in the personal work and reflection towards mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional fitness. Sounds demanding. Is it even attainable, fully? We can certainly try.

Ladies, let’s just start with the basics.

The gut-brain connection should be one of your top priorities. First, enlist the help of a mighty probiotic. Garden of Life and Olly are my personal favorites – they’ll fit right in on your hot girl side table.

Second, consider a new plant-based approach to life. That doesn’t mean vegetarian or vegan per se; just that you should be eating way more vegetables than you might be currently consuming. More plants -> better gut microbiome -> mental, spiritual, physical strength. Capiche?

Third, an actual fitness regime. Some love a good lift, others a long run. No matter your trade, though, yoga will strengthen your overall fitness at its core. More excitingly, there are so many different kinds of yoga to dabble with and it is very personal and customizable. From Kundalini to Ashtanga, Restorative to Vinyasa, you’re in complete control of how you want to push your mind and body. To start, Ayurveda yoga might be beneficial, as it aims to balance your ‘doshas’ – that which may be causing you problems or imbalances.

Fourth, we have all been told to pick up a book. By all means, we should. It wholly improves the mental constitution. But it’s no secret that us college girls are scheduled by the minute. Re: Podcasts! While you’re washing dishes, conquering the StairMaster, or prepping for a night out, you can easily stimulate multiple parts of your brain. Comedy podcasts offer an endorphin boost while true crime podcasts can elicit an adrenaline rush… too easy.
