Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) brings future leaders to the
United States to gain critical professional skills and explore new cultures

How many students are selected for Ugrad?
The United
States Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs
launched the first Global Undergraduate Exchange Program in 2010. (ECA). It
happens once a year for a short period but leaves participants with
unforgettable memories. Every year, approximately 230 participants are chosen, half for the fall semester and a half
for the spring semester.
Is there any test for Ugrad?
You Do Not
Need an IELTS/TOEFL Exam for USEFP Global UGRAD. Global UGRAD is the most
highly regarded and popular exchange program for Pakistani students to the
United States.
For whom
is this program intended?
The
Undergraduate Exchange Program’s goal is to provide scholarships to Pakistani
citizens enrolled in Pakistani universities or colleges. This program provides
cultural/academic exchange through a non-degree program at a university in the
United States for one semester. Applicants must be Pakistani citizens who live
in Pakistan permanently. Students enrolled in either a four-year or two-year
bachelor’s degree program are eligible to apply for the program. Students who
have completed a two-year bachelor’s degree and are currently enrolled in the
first year of their Master’s degree are also eligible to apply (applicable only
to students who have previously completed a two-year bachelor’s degree).
Applicants from all disciplines are welcome to apply.
The United
States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) is particularly interested in
applications from individuals from poor backgrounds and isolated places who
would not otherwise have such an opportunity. the purpose of this program is to provide support to the students to study in USA. Women, minorities, and people
with disabilities are encouraged to apply in particular.
How does the selection
process work?
There will be
four stages of application review:
Round 1:
USEFP staff will screen all applications for the correctness and minimum
qualifications.
Round 2:
Complete applications that meet the minimum qualifications will be assessed and
shortlisted using a set of established criteria.
Round 3: Short-listed
applicants will be interviewed individually in Islamabad between January and
February. The interview panel will consist of both Americans and Pakistanis.
Round 4: In
April-May, the final candidates and alternates will be chosen. Applicants who
have been selected as finalists or alternates will be contacted by phone. Those
who have not received an email will be notified by mail.
Higher
authorities in the United States give the final approval.

Eligibility criteria for the students
Kindly read

- Only
Pakistani undergraduate students are eligible - The
applicant must be at least 18 years old, but no more than 25 - Students from
any degree program are eligible - Those students
who are in their 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate degree
are eligible. The applicant can be from either a private or public university.
The UGRAD program has no such restrictions - After your
selection, the UGRAD administration will assist you with the spoken English
test - The selected
candidates will join US University in August 2023 or January 2023 - A health
certificate is also required - You have to
come back to your home country after the end of the program
Note: Women, people with disabilities, and
residents of FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan,
Northern Sindh, and Southern Punjab are strongly encouraged to apply.
