This month, Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) is celebrating Roshonda Franklin — a dedicated ASPSF volunteer who brings empathy, professionalism, and genuine care to everything she does.

Roshonda lives in Little Rock and is the CEO of Limitless Financials, LLC. A former single parent with grown daughters, Roshonda didn’t receive an ASPSF scholarship herself. However, when she heard about the organization from a former applicant, she felt drawn to get involved.

“As a former single parent, I understand the struggles, sacrifices, and silent strength it takes to raise a family alone,” Roshonda said. “Volunteering with ASPSF is one of the ways that I can honor that commitment — by being a beacon of hope, resource, and a listening ear.”

Since becoming a volunteer nearly a year ago, Roshonda has reviewed applications and participated in interviews on the scholarship committee: work that directly supports the scholarship selection process. She names the interviews as her favorite part of volunteering: hearing applicants’ stories, cheering them on, and witnessing their determination firsthand.

 “Roshonda has been an incredible member of our scholarship committee, interviewing and reviewing applications,” ASPSF Program Manager Keisha Williams said. “She approaches each student with respect and ensures that they feel heard.”

One of Roshonda’s favorite ASPSF memories was filming a Day of Giving video — and juggling for the camera! Her willingness to show up and jump in, no matter the task, embodies the spirit of ASPSF’s volunteer community.

“I give my time to ASPSF and single parents because I’ve been there,” she said. “Trying to figure out how to pay for school or other necessities, sometimes working more than one job, sleepless nights, and the determination to keep going is a weight single parents carry day after day.

 “Giving my time back was a no-brainer, and I hold single parents close to my heart. I applaud ASPSF for standing in the gap for single parents.”
