    There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

    Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors at an Alabama high school and planning to attend an Alabama four-year college in the fall.

    Junior League of Birmingham Scholarship
    Sponsor: Junior League of Birmingham

    Closing Date: January 12, 2026
    Description: Scholarships is open to female students who will be enrolled as a full or part-time student in any accredited two- or four-year school for the upcoming school year. Applicant must have permanent residence in Jefferson or Shelby Counties (Alabama).

    AbbVie Community Equity Scholarship
    Sponsor: AbbVie Bioresearch Center, Inc.
    Amount: Up to $5,000
    Closing Date: January 13, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to current undergraduate sophomores living in or planning to attend community college in select Massachusetts counties (see website for details) and are pursuing a STEM-related education and career. Applicant must also be a first generation college student.

    SNC STEM Scholarship

    Amount: $7,500.00
    Closing Date: January 13, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors, college undergraduates, or graduate level students pursuing a degree and career in a non-medical, STEM-related field, who plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

    Bezos Scholars Leadership Development Program
    Sponsor: Bezos Family Foundation
    Amount: $1,000.00
    Closing Date: January 15, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to high school juniors who attend a high school with at least 30% of the school’s student qualify for free or reduced lunch and is designated as Title I school. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in or have taken at least one advanced course (Honors, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or College Level).

    FOSSI Scholarship
    Sponsor: Future of STEM Scholars Initiative
    Amount: $10,000 for four years
    Closing Date: January 15, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who are planning to attend an HBCU during the next academic year. Applicant must be pursing their studies in a STEM major, with preference given to students majoring in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Material Science, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Agriculture Science, Physics, or Biology.

    Katharine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Horticulture
    Sponsor: The Garden Club of America
    Amount: Up to $3,500
    Closing Date: January 15, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are currently and actively enrolled in a U.S. based institution in IN, KY, MI, OH, PA, or WV. Students should be majoring in horticulture or related fields and have at least a 3.5 GPA.

    Kavi Ohri Memorial Scholarship
    Sponsor: BMI Foundation
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: January 15, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who reside in one of the five boroughs of New York City. Applicant must be planning to attend college in a music-related major.

    Nicole V. Reed Memorial Foundation Culinary Award
    Sponsor: Nicole V. Reed Memorial Foundation
    Amount: $5,000.00
    Closing Date: January 15, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and graduate age 25 or younger living in the United States who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the U.S. for the entire upcoming academic year. Applicant must plan to pursue a culinary arts degree.

    Princeton Prize in Race Relations
    Sponsor: Alumni Association of Princeton
    Amount: $2,500.00
    Closing Date: January 15, 2026
    Description: Award is for students currently enrolled in ninth through twelfth grades who have been actively involved in a volunteer activity that has had a significant, positive impact on race relations in their school or community.

    Better Brothers LA Book Scholarship
    Sponsor: Better Brothers Los Angeles
    Amount: Up to $5,000
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to Black LGBTQ students who are residents of Los Angeles County and who have been admitted or are attending an accredited degree, licensing, or vocational program.

    Cargill-TMCF Thrive Scholarship

    Amount: Up to $15,000
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to current undergraduate students who attend an 1890 land grant institution. Applicant must be majoring in Agriculture or STEM.

    CoBank Scholarship
    Sponsor: CoBank
    Amount: Up to $10,250
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate students attending a TMCF member institution and majoring in Agriculture, Banking, Finance, or Utility-related majors (including water conservation, electrical line work, or gas operations).

    Coca-Cola Foundation First Generation HBCU Scholarship
    Sponsor: Coca Cola Foundation
    Amount: Up to $5,000
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who will be a full-time incoming freshman at a TMCF member school during the 2026-2027 academic year. Applicant must be a first generation college student with at least a 2.5 GPA.

    Enterprise Access HBCC Scholarship
    Sponsor: Enterprise
    Amount: Up to $1,500
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to outstanding students attending TMCF’s member schools that include publicly supported historically Black community colleges (HBCCs) with at least a 2.75 GPA.

    Enterprise Access HBCU Scholarship

    Amount: Up to $15,000
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled as an undergraduate student at a TMCF HUBCU member school during the 2026-2027 academic year. Applicant must have at least a 2.75 GPA.

    MolsonCoors Scholarship
    Sponsor: Molson Coors Beverage Company
    Amount: Up to $8,200
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to students enrolled full-time as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at a TMCF member school during the 2026-2027 academic year. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

    Ohio Soybean Council Scholarship Program
    Sponsor: Ohio Soybean Council
    Amount: Up to $5,000
    Closing Date: January 16, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students at an Ohio college or university who are studying in a science or agricultural field.

    Aviation Scholarship
    Sponsor: The Lyons Aviation Foundation
    Amount: At least $1,500
    Closing Date: January 17, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 years of age who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent resident who are pursuing their private pilot certificate.

    NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) Grand Scholarship
    Sponsor: National Rifle Association (NRA)
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: January 18, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to current sophomores and juniors in high school who are actively engaged in academics, leadership, and community service with at least a 3.0 GPA. If selected, student will travel to Washington D.C. to attend the Youth Education Summit (expenses paid) to compete for the scholarship opportunities.

    Quad City Regional Auto Show Scholarship
    Sponsor: Quad Cities Community Foundation
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: January 18, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to students in specific Illinois and Iowa Counties who plan to attend a two or four-year college or university or planning to attend an Automotive Technical/Trade School. Applicant must be working or have a parent or guardian currently working in a new car dealership located within one of the specific Illinois or Iowa Counties.

    Carl. C. Yount Charitable Scholarship

    Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students who live in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, or Iowa and have shown courage in dealing with epilepsy, commitment to their education, and perseverance in eliminating the obstacles that epilepsy may present.

    Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest

    Description: Contest is open to registered undergraduate full-time juniors and seniors at accredited four-year colleges and universities in the United States. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to an ethical issue.

    Fred J. Epstein Youth Achievement Award

    Description: Award recognizes the strengths and accomplishments of young people with learning disabilities and ADHD. Award is open to a student 19 years old or younger who has demonstrated initiative, talent and determination resulting in a notable accomplishment in any field, including art, music, science, math, athletics, or community service.

    Innovation in Education Scholarship

    Closing Date: January 20, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

    Orange Scholars Program
    Sponsor: The Homer Fund
    Amount: $2,500.00
    Closing Date: January 20, 2026
    Description: Scholars program is open to high school seniors and current college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Applicant must be a dependent of an hourly associate of The Home Depot or its subsidiaries to be eligible for the program.

    Russell K. Okata Scholarship
    Sponsor: Hawaii Government Employees Association

    Description: Scholarship is open to members and their dependents who are attending or plan to attend a community or vocational, trade or other post-high school study on a full-time basis.

    Wisconsin Garden Club Federation Scholarship

    Description: Scholarships are open to current undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are studying in a scientific field enhancing the environment and whose primary residence is in Wisconsin.

    Al Young Sports Journalism Scholarship

    Amount: $2,500.00
    Closing Date: January 21, 2026
    Description: Scholarship is open to Asian American students who are AAJA student members. Applicant must demonstrate journalistic excellence and a strong interest in pursuing sports journalism as a career. Applicants must be an undergraduate enrolled with at least 12 credit units per semester at a junior college or university in the United States.

    Anna Chennault Scholarship
    Sponsor: Asian American Journalists Association

    Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to a U.S. college or currently enrolled college students. Applicant must be committed to AAJA’s mission and candidates will be judged on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated journalistic ability, commitment to the field of journalism and/or sensitivity to Asian American and Pacific Islander issues.

    Legacy Scholarship Program

    Description: Scholarships are open to women who have served or are serving honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, Army National Guard or the child of a woman who served honorably in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard. Applicant must a current community college or certificate student with at least a 2.5 GPA or a current undergraduate or graduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA.

    Vincent Chin Memorial Scholarship

    Description: Scholarship is open to current student journalist. Applicant must write about the legacy of Vincent Chin in essay form.
