    There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

    NEWH | Washington DC Metropolitan Chapter Scholarship
    Sponsor: NEWH – The Hospitality Industry Network | Washington DC Metropolitan Chapter
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: August 1, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to currently enrolled college students attending an accredited college in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or Washington, DC. Applicant must have a career objective in of the areas of the Hospitality Industry (i.e. Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design, etc.)

    Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation Support Awards
    Sponsor: Patsy Takemoto Mink Foundation
    Amount: Up to $5,000
    Closing Date: August 1, 2025
    Description: Award is open to low-income women who are at least 17 years of age and a mother with minor children. Applicant must be pursuing a vocational degree/certificate, associate’s degree, first bachelor’s degree, or a professional/master’s/doctoral degree.

    Tylenol Future Care Scholarship
    Sponsor: Tylenol
    Amount: Up to $10,000
    Closing Date: August 1, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in a public health/health education, med school, nursing and/or pharmacy degree program.

    Cooper Industries Scholarship
    Sponsor: UNCF | Cooper Industries
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: August 4, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to current undergraduate students who are majoring in engineering or business and have at least a 2.75 GPA.

    Community Impact Scholarship
    Sponsor: The Law Office of Jerry D. Andrews, P.C.
    Amount: $2,500.00
    Closing Date: August 6, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students with at least a 3.5 GPA and can demonstrate active involvement in community service and exhibit strong leadership qualities. Applicant must submit an essay explaining why they think it is so important to volunteer within their community.

    USRA Scholarships
    Sponsor: Universities Space Research Association (USRA)
    Amount: Up to $5,000
    Closing Date: August 6, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students attending a four-year accredited college or university that offers courses leading to a degree in science or engineering.

    Gilman-McCain Scholarship
    Sponsor: Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State
    Amount: $5,000.00
    Closing Date: August 7, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate child dependents of an active duty service member to study or intern abroad on a credit-bearing program. This deadline is for students studying or interning abroad during September 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026.

    FSA Scholarship
    Sponsor: Florida Stormwater Association (FSA)
    Amount: $2,000.00
    Closing Date: August 8, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to graduate students in colleges and schools of engineering, natural science, public administration (or closely related fields) who have an interest in stormwater quality, management or finance. Applicant must be attending a Florida college or university.

    NAEHCY Scholarship
    Sponsor: National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: August 8, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to students who are homeless or who have been homeless during their school attendance, and who have demonstrated average or higher than average achievement. Applicant must be under the age of 21 and be actively pursuing post-secondary education.

    I Can Do Anything Scholarship
    Sponsor: The Scholarship Collective
    Amount: $500.00
    Closing Date: August 10, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to high school, undergraduate, graduate, community college, trade and vocational school students in the United States who are enrolled or planning to enroll in college. In less than 100 words, applicant must share their biggest goal in life.

    Ethical Torch Essay Scholarship
    Sponsor: BBB Pacific Southwest
    Amount: Up to $1,500
    Closing Date: August 11, 2025
    Description: Scholarship is open to students in grade 9-12 (graduating classes of 2026-2029) residing and enrolled in school in San Diego or Imperial County. Applicant must submit an essay on a ethical issue that they faced and how they handled it.

    NBAA Scholarships
    Sponsor: National Business Aviation Association (NBAA)
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: August 11, 2025
    Description: Scholarships are open to students with an interest in aviation. Multiple scholarships available.
