Summer Institute 2025 faculty member, Stephanie Frank, reflects on her experience.

How was your SI experience? Give us a few highlights.
Serving as this year’s SI Faculty was a truly amazing and rewarding experience! I had such a great time that I am finding it difficult to summarize in just a few words. I left SI with so many happy memories; from late night conversations with roommates ending in laugh-crying, to another faculty member stealing our classroom’s alien mascot – giggling down the hallway as they went – I was a little sad when it came time go home.
Why did you choose to teach at SI?
Everyone involved in Summer Institute has this catching enthusiasm for financial aid and the people in the field. The amount of support and encouragement I received from those in the RMASFAA region when I attended SI as a student meant a lot to me and I wanted to be able to give back to others in kind.
Would you recommend teaching at SI and why?
Absolutely! All the prep leading up to the event is so worth it! Serving as faculty is a great learning opportunity. You’ll spend a lot of time prepping for classroom instruction and collaborating with others; I felt that I learned quite a bit from my students as well. In addition, the friendships I have made in RMASFAA really mean the world to me. I look forward to each RMASFAA event where I can connect with my people. 😊
