The KASFAA Spring Conference was held April 2-4 in Manhattan, Kansas. We escaped reality for a few days on an Island Getaway that helped us return to our offices refreshed and relaxed post-conference, as seen in the photo where Dori Roth had to explain to the TSA agent (Tony Tanking) what was in her suitcase. There were great sessions and great opportunities for networking. We especially enjoyed meeting our RMASFAA State Swap attendee, Becky McAllister, traveling from Eastern Wyoming College. She’s captured in the photo as she was enjoying conversation with Justin Chase Brown, RMASFAA President, and Brenda Hicks from Southwestern College.
KASFAA is committed to providing training and professional development opportunities to our members, and one of the ways we foster this is by providing scholarship opportunities to attend RMAFSAA’s Summer Institute. This year we were able to provide 4 scholarships. We had many deserving applicants but had to narrow the selection down to the 4 recipients. This year KASFAA will send: Ryan Hernandez from Kansas State University, William Rombach II from Benedictine College, Leslie Dull from Haskell Indian Nations University, and Antonio Hernandez-Reynoso from Wichita State University.
Currently, we are seeking volunteers to serve on KASFAA’s committees for next year. Lots of great opportunities to get involved and meet some lifelong friends. Complete the volunteer form today!
