The Best Of Women’s Fall 2023 Fashion: A Recap

    Share

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Fall is my favorite season. The weather is perfect, leaves start turning different colors, cute coffee shops become even cuter, and the brownstones decorate their entrances with adorable fall decor.

But the main reason, of course, is the fashion. Some of my best-dressed moments and most complimented outfits are my fall ‘fits. I have to give credit to the fashionistas of Pinterest for keeping me stylin’ all season long.

As November comes to a close, I’ve enjoyed looking back at the fashion trends from this fall. These 10 trends in fall 2023 women’s fashion are to die for, and I don’t think they’ll die out anytime soon. Many of these staples are classic, iconic, and timeless. Perhaps you’ll find yourself adding some to your shopping cart as the seasonal sales begin to roll in. I know I will.

From my Pinterest board to you, happy shopping!

    Leather Jackets

Leather jackets are always on my Pinterest feed because they’re always iconic. They might just be the perfect outerwear if you want to give off “cool girl chic.”  Plus, everyone knows that all the characters who wear leather jackets in films are the coolest.

Strut down Commonwealth Avenue with a leather jacket on and get the full effect of being an “it girl.”

    Off-the-shoulder tops

Off-the-shoulder tops are so trendy right now, and for good reason! They’re classy but eye-catching, and flattering for a wide range of body types.

You’ll have all eyes on you when you enter your lecture hall with one of these tops. At least, the girlies who keep up with the latest trends will appreciate your style.

    Striped anything

Striped tops and bottoms have always been in, but they thrive in the fall! Stripes can be classy or chaotic, but I think they’re always a good staple to have in any wardrobe.

A striped sweater paired with solid-color pants can give a put-together, casual look. Whereas a pin-stripe black skirt, basic white baby tee, and a sweater around your shoulders can give “business casual.” There are so many cute possibilities!

    graphic tees

Graphic tees, whether they’re baggy tees or baby tees, are my favorite fall trend. In my opinion, the more artsy and abstract, the better!

These shirts give off personality and character more than any other piece of clothing. If you want to express yourself in a creative and nonchalant way, a graphic tee is the move.

    “Lacy, oh, Lacy”

“Aren’t you the sweetest thing on this side of hell …”

Well, you’ll look hot as hell, that’s for sure! Just as Olivia Rodrigo sings, “Smart sexy Lacy, I’m losing it lately, everyone will lose it when they see you in a lacy ‘fit.” Showing off some skin while staying covered up creates a perfect flirty vibe.

A lacy top and some good blue jeans look super sexy and emanate a cool aura. I have seen so many lace pieces worn this fall season, and I am all for it.

    dress boots

Tall or short, a sleek and sophisticated dress boot will elevate anyone’s shoe game. Dress boots are perfect for any “it girl” because they can be styled with just about anything, from leather pants, to jeans, to the perfect fall skirts.

The key to a good dress boot is a block heel, a little extra height, and of course, confidence when you’re strutting your stuff!

    sneakers

You know I had to talk about the sneakers that blew up on all social media platforms. TikTok went crazy for New Balance shoes, and I get it, trust me. I get it. They’re comfy, cute, and perfect for any casual look.

The same goes for the Adidas Sambas, which took over my Instagram explore page. The Sambas are attractive, easy to style, and good for daily activities. There was never a doubt these sneakers would be all over my Pinterest feed, and quick to be on my Pinterest boards!

    Clogs

The UGG Tasman Suede Braid Accent Embroidered Clog Slippers and the Birkenstock Boston Clogs spread like wildfire this fall! I was quick to buy a pair of Birkenstock Boston Clogs and all I can say is they’re my favorite shoes.

You can catch me wearing them everywhere, so much so that the soles are disappearing, and I’m not ashamed. Clogs are easy to slip on and quite comfortable once they shape your feet, making them a great addition to any closet!

I like ‘em big, I like ‘em chunky (scarves)

Fall wouldn’t be fall without scarves, and this year it’s all about the big and the chunky. Moto Moto was onto something in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa because these scarves are everything.

Oversized, chunky scarves will keep you warm on your walk through the many wind tunnels on Boston University’s campus. Even better, there are so many colors and patterns to suit your personal taste!

    shoulder bags

Last but definitely not least: shoulder bags.

The trend has returned, and I am living for it! Shoulder bags have stood the test of time and remain an iconic accessory to any outfit. Whether it’s a nylon shoulder bag, such as a BAGGU or UNIQLO bag, or a sleek shoulder bag, you’re bound to look stunning.

The small size of the shoulder bag calls for only the necessities, but who wants to carry a heavy bag anyway? If you’ve been waiting for a sign to buy a shoulder bag, this is it, and don’t worry — it will stay trending even after fall 2023!

Overall, the fall 2023 fashion season was one for the books and the trends don’t end there!

WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE NEXT WINTER TREND?
