This past December, I had the opportunity to sit down and speak to one of TikTok’s newest sensations, Alix Earle. I came across the recording the other day and realized that I never published it. It’s fascinating to look back and hear about everything we spoke about and who she is now. Join us in our conversation about relationships, Miami, skincare, and more!
When we spoke, she was still dating baseball player Tyler Wade. Earle said she was excited to see how the relationship with Oakland Athletics’ left fielder would last during the next baseball season. The couple separated before they could make it to that time. We touched a little on her relationship with Wade before their breakup, which happened the next month.
She has recently been linked with Braxton Berrios, a 27-year-old wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins and the ex-boyfriend of Sophia Culpo, reality TV star and sister of former Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo.
We also touched on her experience in Miami. For anyone looking for sushi recommendations down south, Earle loves the different combinations that Osaka Nikkei and Uchi have to offer! Of course, ice cream from Salt & Straw is essential to top things off, with her favorite flavor from the shop being honey lavender.
Miami traffic became a highlight of the conversation. With me being a Miami native, I understood the hectic streets of the city. As a rising internet sensation, Earle felt the chaos of dealing with multiple creator events while also being in college finals season. Creating a to-do list helped her stay organized throughout the craziness. After graduation, Earle hoped to remain in Miami, where she currently resides in the big city of her dreams.
Another article written by a Her Campus writer spoke about Alix Earle getting dropped from her top two sororities and guessing which sorority she ended up joining. Well, I have that tea confirmed here. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, but she ended up dropping the sorority. Earle continued to speak about her college experience expressing how she felt so lucky that the friends that she went out with on the first night ended up being her closest friends to this day.
What’s a conversation without skincare? Earle spoke about her second time being on Accutane, a common acne medication. Rather than giving any specific recommendations, Earle believes that it is important to “listen to your body.” Everyone reacts differently to certain medications, so it’s important to figure out what works for you. Fun fact, Earle is a lip balm enthusiast! She recommends Bag Balm to help with dry lips, which she compared to a stronger version of Aquaphor.
Things got a little deep when I asked Earle what advice she would give to her 16-year-old self. Her response was to try not to let what others think about you affect you. Earle joked about how she used to be very impulsive when she was younger and urges her younger self to “take a step back and evaluate your decisions before you make an impulsive decision.” Taking her own advice, Earle now approaches life one step at a time.
Funnily enough, at the end of the interview, Earle thanked me for being on the show. I then made a comment about becoming a podcaster, and her response was “like Alexandra Cooper.” This is very ironic, considering she recently announced that she was joining the Call Her Daddy host as she begins her new network, The Unwell Network. This network is said to be for “unique voices that embrace social challenges and personal insecurities through honest conversation.”
