Our story

Shnoop is an independent gift editor. We exist for one moment: when you know exactly who you’re buying for, and have no idea what to give them.

Most gift advice is written to be scrolled rather than used: endless lists, a hundred “perfect gifts”, and little sense of who any of it is for. We believe a recommendation should read like advice from a well-informed friend with exacting taste. Specific, considered, and honest about when something isn’t right.

A short edit, not a long list

Every Shnoop guide begins with a single question: who the gift is for, the occasion, and the budget. We answer it with a deliberate edit. For each piece we explain why it suits that particular person, and we tell you plainly when to skip it. We would rather recommend four things we can stand behind than pad a page to twenty.

Independent by design

Shnoop is supported by commissions from some of the retailers we link to. That never decides what we recommend, and no brand can pay to be included. When a link earns us money, we say so before you reach it.

Our standards

• We check product details against the maker’s or retailer’s own information.
• We never claim to have tested something we haven’t.
• We tell you when we earn money from a link.
• We don’t accept payment for coverage.
• Every piece is checked against our written standards before it is published.
