How we pick
Every guide answers one gifting question for a US shopper: who it’s for, the occasion, and the budget. If we can’t answer it honestly with at least three suitable gifts, we don’t publish it.
What we look for
- Fit first: does this suit the person and the occasion, at this budget?
- Retailers with clear return policies, authentic stock and US shipping.
- Enough reliable information from the maker or retailer to describe the product accurately.
- A real reason to choose it — and a real reason someone should skip it.
What we can and can’t verify
We don’t run a testing lab, and we won’t say we tested something unless we did. Product facts come from the maker or the retailer, and we record where each one came from and when we checked it. Our judgement — why a gift suits a particular person — is presented as judgement, not as a test result.
Prices change. Each pick shows its price from the retailer’s own page or Amazon’s product data, with the date and time we last checked it; a pick whose price we can’t confirm isn’t listed. We don’t promise stock or delivery dates.
How we review
Every piece is checked against our written standards before it is published: facts must trace to a source, nothing may claim testing or personal use that didn’t happen, disclosures must be in place and links must work. The publisher reads what we publish and can correct or withdraw anything. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we’ll fix it.
How we make money
Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commission never decides which products we include or the order they appear in. More in our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If something is wrong — a discontinued product, a broken link, a fact we got wrong — please tell us. We fix it, and when a change is material (a pick replaced, a fact corrected) the page’s “Updated” date changes too.
