Shnoop Editors
Shnoop Editors is the byline of Shnoop’s small editorial desk. We research every guide, check product facts against the maker’s or retailer’s own information, and check every piece against our written editorial standards before it is published. We don’t run a testing lab.
Shnoop is an independent gift editor: short, curated guides by recipient, occasion and budget, each pick with a reason to buy and an honest reason to skip. The desk is based in Brooklyn, New York.
How picks are chosen
- Each guide starts from one real question: a recipient, an occasion and a budget (for example, a thank-you gift for a client, under $100).
- A pick has to suit that person and that moment: what they already use, their stage of life, whether the gift is personal or for the whole household.
- It has to be sold by the maker or an established retailer, never a marketplace reseller we can’t vouch for.
- Every pick carries an honest reason to skip it. If we can’t say who it is wrong for, we don’t understand it well enough to recommend it.
- Commissions never decide what is included; see how Shnoop makes money.
What we verify
- Product facts (materials, sizes, what’s in the box, care) come from the maker’s or the retailer’s own pages, and the source is recorded for each pick.
- Prices come from the retailer’s own page or Amazon’s product data and are shown with the date and time they were checked. A pick whose current price we can’t confirm isn’t listed.
- Spending guidance, etiquette and rules (tax limits, workplace gift policies, holiday dates) are cited to the source that states them.
What we don’t claim
- We don’t run a testing lab and we don’t say we have used or tested a product.
- We don’t publish star ratings, scores, testimonials or invented reviews.
- We don’t promise stock, delivery dates or that a price will last.
How guides are reviewed
Every guide is researched, fact-checked against its sources and then reviewed against our written editorial standards before it is published: answer first, facts traceable, a real reason to skip each pick, and the affiliate disclosure before the first retailer link. Anything that fails goes back for revision rather than out the door. How we pick sets out the standards in full.
How updates work
Prices are rechecked regularly, and picks that are no longer available are marked or replaced. A guide’s “Updated” date changes only when something material changes, such as a pick replaced or a fact corrected, not to make a page look fresh.
Corrections
If something is wrong, tell us. We check it against the source and fix the page.
