Why it works as a gift
A cashmere scarf is one of the few clothing gifts that needs no size, and a plain rectangle in a heathered toffee is about as easy to wear as colour gets: it sits comfortably against navy, camel, grey and black coats. The Amazon listing, sold by Amazon.com, describes a fine-gauge cashmere yarn in a classic rectangular shape that can be looped, wrapped or draped. Everlane's own page for The Cashmere Scarf in its other colours lists 100% cashmere, 70% of it recycled, and 76 by 13.5 inches.
That fibre story is part of what makes it feel considered. Everlane says it blends GRS-certified recycled cashmere with cashmere certified under the Good Cashmere Standard, which it describes as covering the welfare of the goats, the grazing land and the herders' working conditions. For someone who cares how their clothes are made, that is a better reason to give it than a big logo.
Against a designer scarf with a visible check or monogram, this is the quieter choice and the easier one to get right: nothing to match, nothing to clash. Against a cheaper wool or acrylic scarf, the difference is the fibre itself and how it is sourced. The trade-off is care: cashmere wants hand washing and drying flat, and a fine knit can pill where a bag strap rubs it.
