Why it works as a gift
A planner is one of the few gifts with a natural deadline, which is what makes it a good fit for the end of the year: it is useful from the first week of January. Leuchtturm1917's weekly planner and notebook shows the full calendar week on the left page and a ruled notebook page on the right, so appointments and the notes that go with them live on the same spread. It runs January to December 2027 and adds a three-year overview (2026 to 2028), monthly overviews with official holidays for 58 countries and moon phases, and a project plan for laying out tasks across the year.
The construction is what separates it from a drugstore diary. Leuchtturm1917 says the book is thread-bound and opens flat, and lists acid-free 80 g/m² paper with high ink compatibility, detachable sheets for notes, a gusseted pocket in the back cover, two page markers, an elastic closure and a sticker set for labeling and archiving the year. The Medium size is A5, 145 x 210 mm, and this one is the Cherry hardcover.
Against a generic planner at a similar budget, this is the more considered choice for someone who keeps old diaries or writes in pen. The trade-off is space: with seven days on one page, each day gets a few lines, so it suits people who list appointments and tasks rather than journaling daily.
